How it works

- Numbers stay numbersThousands separators, decimals, currency symbols, percentages and negative amounts in brackets are converted to numeric cells with matching formats.

What works well
PDFs created by software (accounting systems, banking portals, reporting tools, "Save as PDF" from a spreadsheet) contain the actual text and its position on the page, so tables can be rebuilt accurately. Clean tables with one line per row, such as transaction lists, price lists and financial summaries, convert best. Headings and paragraphs are kept in the first column so you can see the context around each table.
Limitations
- Scanned PDFs are pictures of text. Run OCR PDF first to add a text layer, then convert.
- Merged header cells and multi-line cells are split into separate cells or rows; tidy them up in Excel.
- Several tables side by side on one page may share columns.
- Charts are images, so their data cannot be extracted.
For the cleanest result from a long statement, choose "One sheet per page", delete the header and footer rows on each sheet, then copy the rows into one table.
Privacy
Bank statements and invoices are exactly the documents you should not upload to unknown servers. Here the PDF is read with pdf.js and the workbook is written with ExcelJS, both running inside your browser tab.

Is my PDF uploaded?
No. Conversion happens entirely in your browser.
My statement is password-protected.
Remove the password first with Unlock PDF (you need to know it), then convert.
Why are some amounts text instead of numbers?
Unusual formats, such as trailing minus signs or text mixed into the cell, are kept as text so nothing is lost. Use Find and Replace or VALUE() in Excel to convert them.
