This tool removes passwords you know
Unlock PDF does not guess, crack or bypass passwords. It only removes protection from documents you can already open, which is legal and common for your own statements, tax documents and payslips, where banks and employers often use your date of birth or ID number as the password. If you do not know the password, ask the person or organisation that sent the file.
Removing the password also means anyone who gets the unlocked copy can read it. Store it somewhere safe, such as an encrypted drive or a password-protected cloud folder, and delete copies you no longer need.

Frequently asked questions
Is my PDF or password sent anywhere?
No. Decryption happens in your browser. Neither the file nor the password leaves your device.
It says the password is incorrect, but it works in my reader.
Check capital letters, spaces and the keyboard layout. Some banks use a date format like DDMMYYYY; try exactly what you type in your reader.
My PDF opens without a password but I cannot print or copy.
It has an owner password that sets permissions. Enter that owner password here to remove the restrictions; without it, ask the sender for an unrestricted copy.
Can I add a password again later?
