How it works
- Open the documentDrop the PDF. Every page appears below so you can scroll to the signature line.
- Create your signatureDraw it in the box, type your name and pick a handwriting style, or upload a picture of your real signature.
- Place itClick "Add to document". The signature appears on the page in view; drag it onto the line and pull the corner to resize. Add the date or your printed name the same way.
- SaveClick "Save signed PDF" to download a new copy. The original file is untouched.
Is a signature added this way legally valid?
In many countries an electronic signature is legally recognised for most everyday agreements. In the United States the ESIGN Act and UETA, and in the European Union the eIDAS regulation, say a signature cannot be refused just because it is electronic. What matters in practice is showing that you intended to sign and that the document was not changed afterwards, so keep the signed file and the email it was sent with.
Some documents need more: property deeds, wills, court filings and certain government and banking forms may require a wet-ink signature, a notary, or a certified digital signature backed by a certificate. This tool creates a visual signature, which is not a cryptographic digital signature. When in doubt, ask whoever requested the signature which kind they accept.
Tips for a clean signature
- On a laptop, a trackpad works better than a mouse: sign slowly with one finger. On a phone or tablet, sign with your finger or a stylus.
- Dark blue or black ink looks most natural when printed.
- For an uploaded signature, sign on plain white paper, photograph it in good light and crop it tightly. PNG files with a transparent background blend in best.
- Use "Add date" so the date format is consistent; choose ISO (2026-09-24), US or European style.
Privacy
Contracts, leases and HR forms contain personal details. Here the PDF is opened, displayed and saved entirely in your browser; nothing is sent to a server, and your signature is not stored anywhere after you close the page.
